our history

M-ZONE Dance Academy was founded by Mandakini Jena, Director and Pravata Kumar Rana , Managing Director in the year 2004. Initially the institution began with the duo for rehearsal purpose and kept on adding members and finally spread its branches in most parts of Odisha. When the capacity extended beyond its limit it had to be shifted and modified. On the entry of Mandakini Jena in various national level reality shows like Dance India Dance , Chak Dhoom Dhoom, Boogie Woogie etc. the institution got famous in far and wide of the state as well as the nation. Now it holds the title of the best dance institution in the state with around 300 continuing students and around 2000 students in all. The institution aims to spread modern dance in the state and train people of all categories. It asks people to leave all other addictions and get addicted to dance.

The Crew has also performed in many of the country’s reality shows and competitions and on stages of international level. Its students have cracked the reality show industry many a time and have brought glory to the institution. Like Arundhati Garnaik in Dance India Dance Season-4, Team M-ZONE in India’s Dancing Superstar, Susanket Mishra in Dance India Dance Little Master Season-2, Padmini Pattnaik in India’s Dancing Superstar and many more. The institution also holds training sessions for socially and economically backward people for free. It goes on its track and heads towards the development of dance as well as self.

Social Works

Apart from being a pure dance academy M-zone does a lot of social work. Summer camps in dance and free dance lessons to orphans in the Ashram are few of them. It also provides dance lessons to transgenders so that they could maintain their self-dignity in the society and showcase their talents.

Dance Lessons to
ORPHANS

By teaching dance to these kids we are able to see them express themselves in a new light, watching them transform and become more confident in who they are and the possibilities of their futures is incredible. The children also will get a chance to showcase their newfound dance skills.

Dance Lessons to
Transgenders

We are working to fill that gap by challenging gender norms in dance, onstage and off. For an art form with deeply ingrained gender divisions, that's no easy task. Currently, from the moment a child steps into a dance studio, their training is often determined by gender.
